The Florida Hometown Heroes Mortgage Program, initially designed for first-time millennial homebuyers in specific occupations, has recently undergone significant changes to broaden its reach and impact. Previously available only to individuals in selected professions, the program is now open to all first-time homebuyers, regardless of occupation. Veterans are exempt from being First Time Buyers! This expansion aims to help more millennials achieve homeownership and establish roots in their local communities.
In addition to the broadened eligibility criteria, the Down Payment Assistance (DPA) funds offered by the program have been increased from $25,000 to $35,000. This substantial boost aims to provide even greater financial support for young adults looking to buy their first house.
